
Large graveyard, extended in 1866 (when the current walls were mostly built) and in 1900. 18th, 19th and 20th century monuments. Fine 18th century gravestones. Some tablestones. South-west of the church is the headstone of William Hann, 18th century in date. North-east of the church is the monument of Rosa Anna Glen (d1890) with a statue. Several early cross slabs, of 7th to 11th century date, have been found in the churchyard and built into nearby farm buildings.
Diocese of Galloway, deanery of Farines. Old chapel said to have stood in a field to the west of the present church grounds. The medieval Motte to is to north the of church. The parsonage had been annexed to Whithorn Priory before the Reformation, the cure being a perpetual vicarage, held usually by one of the canons, while a curate served the charge. The annexation may predate 1274 as the church is not listed in Bagimond.
T-plan church, comprised of a rectangular-plan church of 1794, with jamb adjoined to the north (of 1832?), and an 1876-78 vestry adjoined to the west.A decoratively coped granite birdcage bellcote is at the apex of the gablehead. A brass war memorial (1914-1919) plaque is on the front panel of the pulpit.
